Workshop name :Learning science through innovation .
Information of workshop: This workshop IS arranged in well known institute that is IISER Pune . This workshop is going on from 4 July to 8 July 2016.These projects are held on IBT based and can be made by IBT Tools and equipments these projects are useful for public welfare.
Project Selection:
In this workshop many experts guided us on the subject of
Second day of the workshop many experts guided us on the sub of
a) energy.
b) agriculture.
c) environment.
through the activities like brain storming after that we studied on the environment we decided the following project
We have selected project related to environment.
Now a days plastic garbage is very harmful for the nature.
We are going to do a project to reduce the plastic bottles & bags by giving them a new life
NAME OF THE PROJECT: GIVE NEW LIFE TO OLD PLASTIC !!!!
AIM:Reuse the plastic bottles and make a tree guard.
NEEDS/PROBLEMS
1] To protect the plants.
2] To reduce the plastic garbage.(plastic bottles)
3] To make our school area free from plastic garbage.
4] To decrease evaporation of water.
5] It will be cheaper than any other tree guard.
PROBLEMS:
1] Plastic water bottles are harmful to nature as well as to the city.]
2] Naturally it is not decomposed.
3]plastic water bottles causing harm to our environment.
4] It does cause harm to animal when they eat and swallow the plastic bags.
5]when plastic is burnt it causes air pollution.
SOLUTION:
1] To make the people to use paper or cloth bags instead of plastic bags.
2] Try to use minimum mineral bottles & plastic bags.
3] We will make a survey to guide the people to use water filter at public places like bus stand,railway station,in hotels etc. and pay for it.
4] We will try to make water bottle by using naturally decomposable substance like bamboo,paper etc....
5] To use old plastic for drip irrigation in our school area and terrace garden.
6] To prepare tree guard.

1] Collect plastic bottles & plastic bags from school area.
2]Design a structure of tree guard.

1) This alone cannot become a good science project.

3) What is a quantum of plastic used by each household ?You may start with students in your class. Maintain record for a 15 days.
4) What are types of plastic collected in your garbage ? Which of them is recyclable and which is not ?
5) Find of what kind of plastic is not recyclable and makes your school/city looks ugly.
6) Find out ways to avoid use of the plastic which is not recyclable.
7) Then find out methods of making into useful products.
8) You may have to identify 10 ugly places in your neighbourhood. Geotag them.
Try to work on atleast one of the place as a Shramdaan.

9) Making tree guard is very small thing. Make it good project.
10) Do the tree guard with all its sketches and measurement. Also find out strength..
